Startup India is India's government initiative. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi first announced the campaign during his Red Fort address on 15 August 2015 in New Delhi[1].
This initiative's action plan focuses on three areas:
Simplification, handholding.
Funding and incentives.
Partnership and Incubation Industry-Academia.
The key important things
Promoting 10,000 crore start-ups.
Reduction of registration fees.
Improved Bankruptcy Code for a 90-day exit window.
Freedom from inspections for first 3 years.
Capital Gain Tax for first 3 years of operation.
Tax-free first 3 years of service.
Auto-certification compliance.
The Atal Innovation Mission established an innovation center.
To aim 5 lakh colleges, involving 10 lakh children in innovation-related initiatives.
Current IPR security systems for start-ups.
Built as a Rajasthan Incubation Hub.
Another area of this initiative is to discard restrictive government policies within this domain, such as license Raj, land permits, foreign investment proposals, and environmental clearances. The Department of Industry and International Trade (DPI&IT) coordinated it[2].
A startup identified as an organization headquartered in India, founded less than 10 years ago, with an annual turnover of less than $100 crore (US$ 14 million)[3] Under this initiative, the government has already launched the I-MADE program to support Indian entrepreneurs develop 10 lakh (1 million) mobile device start-ups and the MUDRA Bank's (Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana) scheme.
